Part-time Community Choral Director

at Round Rock Community Choir in Austin Metro Area

Job Posting for: Round Rock Community Choir
Open Position: Round Rock Youth Choir Director

About the Choir
The Round Rock Youth Choir is a program that develops high levels of artistic and expressive singing in students ages 9-16. Under the umbrella of the Round Rock Community Choir, the Youth Choir provides an opportunity, outside the limits of a school structure, for musical expression and education in a joyful environment.

Young voices can be sophisticated, profoundly musical, and artistically excellent. As members of the Round Rock Youth Choir, students learn to sing quality music, listen attentively to each other, and further develop their solo abilities.

We believe music makes a difference in the lives of all people, but particularly in the lives of children and teens. In the RRYC, students are encouraged to explore and expand their love of music. They are introduced to a wide music repertoire that will serve them well for a lifetime. In this process, they learn their passion for singing is a gift to be cherished and nurtured.

Youth choir rehearsals are held each Monday from 5:45-6:45 p.m. Students participate in approximately three major concerts a year, in conjunction with the Round Rock Community Choir. Additional performances within the community (e.g. Round Rock Chalk Walk) or singing of the national anthem at local sporting events occur 2-3 times per year.
